Case Study: Landgate & SLIP

Landgate is the statutory authority responsible for Western Australia’s land and property information. Driven by Landgate, the Shared Land Information Platform (SLIP) is a groundbreaking, whole-of-government initiative to create a framework and single point for accessing all government spatial data.

Leading specialists in integration of maps and spatial data with enterprise systems, Amristar was chosen to provide spatial architecture, thought leadership and complete project teams.

The resulting solution enables participating organisations to conveniently share spatial data independent of source, format and location in real-time. OGC web services provide access to latest spatial data. The framework is built on a combination of commercial and open source software.

iDelve was chosen as the map viewing technology for the SLIP Framework after a rigorous selection process by the leading government agencies involved in spatial data management (Landgate, DAFWA, FESA and DPI).

Amristar was also responsible for integrating iDelve with applications based on the SLIP framework, including the WA Atlas and Interragator+.

The SLIP platform was successfully launched in August 2008, and its achievements have  been recognized with awards by the Spatial Sciences Institute. It has won the APSEA 2008 award for Spatially Enabled Government and the 2008 Premiers Award for Improving Government.
