Case Study: Transperth

Transperth is the public transport system managed by the Public Transport Authority  (PTA) in Western Australia. The system includes buses, trains and ferries with over 9,000 timetabled services.

Amristar assisted Transperth by integrating iDelve web mapping with their spatial data and route optimisation engine to deliver a mapping system on their public website. It assists thousands of commuters to plan travel using interconnecting transport services, locate and to find out about available transport services.

iDelve’s superior interactivity, instant feature selection and query, and smooth pan and zoom eliminates the "click-and-wait" frustrations of traditional Web mapping technologies.

iDelve is also used as a “back office” tool for effective and efficient communication between PTA and their contract transport service providers. Temporary and permanent changes to transport routes are communicated by making “red-line” mark-ups on a digital map and emailing “bookmarks” of the marked-up map, ensuring accurate communication of the proposed changes. This enhances productivity and avoids the disruption, customer dissatisfaction and cost of errors through mis-communication.
